These policies govern how SubtitleGenerator handles your videos, your account and your payments. Privacy, terms of service and the refund guarantee all live on this page.
Privacy
Your video never leaves your browser. SubtitleGenerator keeps your original video on your device. Only the extracted audio needed to create subtitles is processed securely, and finished exports are rendered in your browser.
What is uploaded, and what isn't
The original video file stays on your device. The browser reads its metadata, creates a local preview and extracts an audio-only file for transcription. Supported exports are rendered locally in the browser.
Only that extracted audio is sent for transcription. It is deleted after the transcription request is complete. The source video and browser-rendered export are never part of that upload.
How transcription is processed
The extracted audio is processed to create text, word-level timing and confidence scores. The request is handled securely through SubtitleGenerator, and the audio is deleted after transcription is complete.
What we store
We store the information needed to provide your account and projects: account details, plan status, available subtitle time, and project details such as cues, timings and style choices.
We do not store your original video or the video rendered by your browser.
How we store and protect data
Account and project information is protected and access is limited to people who need it to operate the service. Extracted audio is deleted once transcription is complete.
Third-Party Sharing and Disclosure
We share personal data only when necessary to operate and provide SubtitleGenerator. This may include sharing limited account, billing, transaction, audio-processing, email and technical information with payment processors, cloud infrastructure services, authentication and email services, speech-to-text services, and privacy-focused analytics services.
Payment card details are processed by our payment service and are not stored directly by SubtitleGenerator. Original video files remain in the user’s browser. Audio required for transcription may be processed temporarily by a speech-to-text service and is deleted after processing.
These services may use the information only to perform services for us, maintain security, prevent fraud, or comply with applicable law. We do not sell personal information or share it for third-party advertising. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users or service.
Analytics
We use privacy-focused analytics to understand which pages, referrers and product flows are useful. It does not use advertising cookies or track you across other websites. When a recognized campaign link brings you to SubtitleGenerator, we may keep a signed first-party attribution cookie for up to 30 days. It contains only controlled source, medium, campaign, entry-page category and timestamp values, and no user or device identifier.
We record only a limited set of product events to understand where the product works well or needs improvement. Session replay and automatic interaction capture are disabled. We do not send video files, subtitle text, email addresses, names or file names as analytics properties. We do not store a product analytics identity in your browser.
Analytics helps us understand product usage, but it does not determine your account, available subtitle time, payments or transcription results. Those are managed separately as part of providing the service.
Your data, your call
You can request a copy of your account data or ask us to delete your account through the contact page. We will confirm the request and tell you if any billing or legal record must be retained for a limited period.
Terms of Service

Use of Services
You may use SubtitleGenerator only for content you have the right to process. You are responsible for reviewing generated subtitles before publishing them.
User Accounts
When you create an account with us, you must provide accurate and complete information. You are responsible for safeguarding your account and for all activities that occur under your account.
Intellectual Property
Our website and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by us and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
User Content
You retain your rights in your videos, audio, transcripts, and exports. You grant us only the limited rights needed to provide the service you request.
Prohibited Activities
You agree not to:
- Use our services in any way that violates any applicable law or regulation
- Engage in any conduct that restricts or inhibits anyone's use or enjoyment of our services
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our servers or networks
- Use our services to distribute malware or other harmful code
Content Standards
You may only use SubtitleGenerator to process content you own or have the right to use. We do not allow content that is:
- Sexually explicit or pornographic
- Violent, gory, or graphic
- Hateful or discriminatory
- Unsafe for children, including child sexual abuse material
- A deepfake or a false impersonation of another person
- Infringing on someone else's copyright or trademark
We may refuse to process or remove violating content, suspend or terminate accounts, and report illegal content to the relevant authorities. To report a violation, contact us.
Plans, credits, and billing
Paid plans and pay-as-you-go credits are governed by the price and limits shown at checkout. Checkout return pages do not grant credits; verified payment events control account entitlements.
Termination
We may suspend access when necessary to prevent abuse, protect other users, or comply with law. You may stop using the service or delete your account at any time, subject to required transaction-record retention.
Limitation of Liability
In no event shall we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use our services.
Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make changes, we will provide notice by posting the updated Terms on this page.
